what is a gentle leader collar?
I am 73 years old
I had 6 different dogs all setters.
now I received a 2 year old black small labrador.
This dog is nice and friendly but will pull all the time.
I try to make him heel but with no result.
The dog was used to be outside and run loose in the yard.
now I would like to teach him to heel.
at our age my wife 74 and me 73 we can't afford a pulling dog.
please help us to straiten the dog out, we like this dog very well she is clean and gentle.
I tell my neighbors that I will buy a pair of rollerskates so that the dog can pull me.
I was told that there is a lease (gentle leader collar) that could help.
thank you in advance
A-Best: My dog has to use a gentle leader. It's basically a harness that goes on the head. Many people mistake it for a muzzle, but dogs can still open there mouths completly while wearing it. The leash attaches to the leader under the mouth. When wearing it, if the dog tries to pull on the leash, the gentle leader cause their head to pull sideways. The dog doesn't like this and therefore does not pull on the leash.
A: The Gentle Leader is a head collar that is modeled on the horse halter. It is a safe, painless way to take the dog's ability to pull away when it is on lead.
